DESCRIPTION:The Border Union Show is the highlight of the event and agricultural calendar for the Scottish Borders and Northumberland. The Annual Show is held on the last Friday and Saturday of July in the Borders Events Centre on the outskirts of the pretty cobbled town of Kelso. \nThe show is a traditional farming show with over 500 open competitions for horses\, livestock and industrial arts. With over 200 trade stands for everything you could imagine from tractors and farm supplies to clothing and food outlets. Our fantastic Food Fair welcomes producers from all over Scotland and beyond. The Craft & Gift Marquee is a treasure trove of unique and special gifts. \nThere are various bits of entertainment for children including the fun fair which is the ideal place for the kids to blow off steam. There are catering outlets with tempting treats including seafood\, crepes and the ever popular fish and chips. SUMMARY:BOG - Potato Day
DESCRIPTION:24th Annual Potato Day and Green Fair   \nSunday 3rd March  11 am – 3 pm   \nThe biggest potato garden event in the UK!   \n100 varieties of seed potato tubers including old favourites\,  heritage and blight resistant varieties\, plus a selection of Scottish grown organic varieties and some new blues and reds to try.   Tubers 20p each. \nIndoor market – We are thrilled to have a baker again at the BOG Potato Day and Green Fair.  Andrew Smith from Bread and Roses in Alnwick will be selling his wonderful fresh sourdough and naturally leavened loaves.  There are another 24 confirmed stall holders including local producers of meat\, charcuterie\, beers\, juices\, cheeses\, cakes; plus garden plants\, arts and craft workers\, children’s table and a full cafe service. \nNationally renowned potato experts and enthusiasts Alan Romans and John Marshall\, will be there to give advice along with BOG members.  There is not much that these two do not know about potatoes and how to grow them \nAdult entrance is £1.50 (under 16s free) which includes a guide to the varieties and articles on choice and cultivation.  There is free marshalled parking.
