Border Union Championship Dog Show
The Border Union Championship Dog Show is held over two days, with the Gundogs, Hounds and Terriers on one day and the Working, Pastoral, Utility and Toys on the other. Entries are normally between 5000 and 6000 dogs, with classes for 116 different breeds scheduled over the two days. There are also variety classes for breeds that aren’t scheduled individually, and each day there are competitions to determine the dog or bitch awarded Best in Group. These dogs then compete for Best in Show on the Sunday, and there is a similar competition for the Best Puppy in Show and Best Veteran in Show, also judged on the Sunday.
The Border Union prides itself on being exhibitor friendly, with car parking for exhibitors at the rear of the benching tents, disabled parking at the front of the car parks and a well laid out, compact show setup with the rings surrounded by trade stands and wet weather rings within the benching tents if required. On both days there are a number of food outlets serving a range of food and drinks.
